Fairground Field 2005 ______________________________________________________________________________________

This field was used as a fairgrounds in the mid 1800's and was just planted in corn when this picture was taken. Austin is just getting started in metal detecting. He has a Tesoro Compadre and has found several coins with it.

This is the field where he found his first Indian Cent! Unfortunately the fertilizer damages the copper coins severely here and most of them do not have dates. His however we believe is an 1868 but it is VERY difficult to tell. Also this site has produced several arrowheads. The one below was found by Austin.

These fields are always interesting and this one especially so since the farmer deep plows in the fall it every year it is planted in corn. 2005 is one of those years so Spring 06 it will be ready again!
